Typical Explanar Golf lesson

Here are Luther Blacklock's tips and recommendations to providing a typical Explanar golf lesson to create a more powerful swing in the student's optimum plane .

1. Teach and explain as you normally would.

2. Watch the student hit some golf shots on the practice ground or range.

3. Identify any swing faults or issues.

4. Then use Explanar to demonstrate one feeling or positive change.

5. Set Explanar at the correct angle for the student's physique using the Plane Sensor™ (bungie cord). Viewed from the down the line position, the line of the Explanar should pass through the centre of the shoulders.

6. Rest the Power Roller™ at the base of the hoop whilst the student is positioned in the centre of the Explanar.

7. Ensure the student has the correct posture and grip.

8. You should step into Explanar alongside the student and assist by demonstrating the Power Roller's desired movement. This can be done with one hand on the Power Roller™ helping the student to initiate the swing back and forth very gently and slowly.

9. Emphasise to the student that there is no benefit in over swinging - swing back to the "L" of the Explanar logo on the Plane Fin™ and follow through to the "A".

10. Once the student has mastered Explanar with your supervision step out of Explanar and allow the student to swing in Explanar without assistance.

11. After 3 to 5 minutes lead your student away from Explanar to practise the swing and hit real shots. Explain the real club will feel very light initially. The first couple of shots will reflect this and should be disregarded

12. Alternate between Explanar and real shots freely during the lesson to achieve the results both you and the student are looking to achieve.
